NGAG's Mary on the Green project, which aims to erect a sculpture to Mary Wollstonecraft on Newington Green, was the focus of a fascinating and very successful evening at the Stokie Lit Fest on Saturday 4th June.

The event was a sell-out with 80 tickets being sold. Many thanks to the Festival staff who were very supportive with publicity and setting up.

First, NGAG's letter to the Guardian about Mary on the Green gets published on the centenary of International Women's Day, accompanied by the support of 75 Parliamentarians.

NGAG's Letter to the Guardian Newspaper re the Mary Wollstonecraft memorial.

On 8 March 2011, the 100th anniversary of the first International Women's Day, the Newington Green Action Group wrote to the Guardian asking for support for the project to erect a memorial sculpture to Mary Wollstonecraft on Newington Green.

The letter was accompanied by the names of 75 supporters from the Houses of Parliament - and the number keeps growing!
