ISBN 978-0-9559120-0-9

Alex Allardyce gave an illustrated talk about the way the Green has evolved over the years and he signed books for the launch, at the AGM on 18th June 2008. A large number of books were bought by the people attending the meeting.

This fascinating book covers the history and development of the Newington Green area, from the earliest records of a small medieval forest clearing, right up to the recent regeneration works which have revitalised the Green and made it the popular area it is today.

The book is well illustrated with historical and contemporary photographs, plus drawings and maps of the area. Many of the old buildings that once existed around the Green are illustrated and Allardyce describes the free-thinking people who lived at Newington Green and the considerable impact they had on the world through their ideas and discoveries.

The Book wins a top Media Award

In December 2009 'The Village that Changed the World' won the prestigious Walter Bor Media Award.
