Volunteers Bulb Planting

Volunteers Bulb Planting
These are some of the 15 Volunteers who came to NGAG's Bulb Planting Event, to help us plant 800 bulbs on Newington Green. It was a warm and beautiful September day.
All the bulbs were planted and watered in very efficiently and quickly. The plants were a mixture of autumn crocus corms, spring bulbs and wood anemones which we hope will create some lovely displays on the Green for years to come. Just one month later, drifts of delicate autumn crocus flowers appeared on the Green.
To say 'thank you' volunteers were offered free bird boxes to put up in their own gardens in order to help extend the green corridors around the Newington Green area, as part of the WING project.
