So Many Wood Chips!

So Many Wood Chips!

 The Wood Chip Pile.

Roger Simmons was one of the NGAG volunteers that helped our Community Ranger Fiona Mackenzie to spread these chippings, from a felled cherry tree, along the paths on Newington Green.

It had taken several weeks to get the timing right for the Tree Service to be able to deliver some wood chips to the Green as the weather, broken down lorries and other factors kept delaying the delivery. Eventually they arrived and what at first seemd a small heap of chips, gradually seemd larger and larger, as the effort of moving them all became apparent!

It was rewarding work though and it was good to know that our volunteering had been worhtwhile.
