Postcard ~ Newington Green in Spring

Unitarian Church in Spring
The Newington Green Action Group commissioned Jan Bowman to design a set of postcards that depict the historic buildings as seen during the four seasons on Newington Green. This Spring card shows the North side of Newington Green with the historic Unitarian Church, which was built in 1708 and is a Grade 2 Listed building.
Each card gives information about the history of the buildings and the influential people associated with Newington Green, on the reverse side:
'Built in 1708 and listed Grade 11, the Chapel is the oldest surviving non-conformist meeting house in London...'
The chapel's most famous minister, Dr Richard Price (1758-1791), a liberal intellectual.....'
'Mary Wollstonecraft, whose Chapel pew still exists, lived and founded a school in Newington Green...'
