Newington Green in Spring

Cherry and Plane Trees
Newington Green is particularly lovely in Spring, when the magnificent old plane trees begin to open their softly coloured green leaves in the tracery of branches above the cherry blossom.
This quote was passed on to me from Patrick Richardson, the LBI tree officer who has helped us with our tree planting:
"People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us" Iris Murdoch.
