New Pathway

This is one of the new pathways that have been created that lead through the bushes and flower borders on Newington Green, giving children a new area to explore.

The bark chippings that cover the path are not only soft to walk on compared to the hard surfaces of the concrete pavements but they will also create a new habitat for insects and other invertebrates, which will in turn provide food for foraging birds, particularly during the cold winter months when food is scarce.

Small fungi are already beginning to grow in the bark chippings, adding to the biodiversity of Newington Green.
