Dogs Must be on Kept a Lead on Newington Green
NGAG has just been informed that Newington Green is now covered by a Bye-Law which requires all owners to keep their dogs on a lead when using the Green.
This is good news for many other users, in particular, all the children that play on the Green. Perhaps it will also deter those irresponsible owners who allow their dogs to dig up flowerbeds and chew the base of trees, so that the bark is ripped off and the tree, sadly, is killed.
There will be notices put up around the Green to this effect:
You are required by law to keep your dog on a lead in this area. Failure to do so when asked by an
authorised officer may result in a penalty of £80.
